Matter and energy at the molecular, atomic, nuclear, and subatomic levels, are all vibrating at different frequencies. As quantum physics explains that everything is ultimately energy, vibrating at different frequencies. So, from this perspective and with a metaphysical understanding, we can see the human ‘being’ as consisting of different layers of energy systems: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Each of these layers has its own unique vibrational frequency which combines to create your own special frequency or ‘song’.
However, in the presence of illnesses, these vibrations change. Other factors like what we put into our bodies and what we do can also alter our vibrations. Typically, the higher the vibration, the lighter, happier, and healthier a person can be expected to be. On the other end of the scale, the lower the frequency, the denser one’s energies and the heavier the problems. Often this can be manifested in the physical body as pain signals- which is really nature’s own way of getting us to make a change. (Rose. B, 2021)
"Every human brain is both a broadcasting and receiving station for the vibration of thought." - Napoleon Hill
This idea can be further clarified by the below illustration by Bob Mueller and accompanied with an explanation by Dr. Bruce Lipton (Dr Lipton. B, 2015, 49). As you can see the emotional state of fear triggers the body to produce stress hormones and inflammatory agents, while in a state of love the body will respond by releasing positive biochemicals of love instead.
Sound too is all about vibration, whether from the larynx of a person or the strings of a guitar. These sound waves consist of vibrating particles which creates the sounds we hear, the same way our ear drums react to the travelling vibrations in the air. Dr Bruce Lipton details it further explaining, “......this is where the concept of constructive interference comes in, where two vibrations can tangle with each other, and both add up and both gain more power than either one alone". This entanglement is often conveyed constructively as ‘good vibes’. (Dr Lipton B, 2015)
Gongs
The same can be said for the good vibes we can attain from the resonant sounds of the gongs, a vibrational instrument that plays soft sacred music and sounds in a geometric pattern. Gonging sessions allows us to be deeply immersed in sounds and vibrations that is believed to have the ability to release stuck energies. Effectively cleansing the internal and bio-morphogenic field of participants- putting them on the path of healing. These cleansing vibrations basically function to entrain the physical body, where the gongs can knead and ease the burdens within the different energy layers. Indeed, through this deep process of relaxation within a quiet meditative comforting state, gonging is a holistic approach to wellbeing. At The Sandalwood Shop, we incorporate the scent of pure Australian sandalwood oil to heighten beneficial effects and relaxation. Our hour-long gong sessions* cost $24 per person with different sessions available throughout the day.
“Everything is energy and that is all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want, and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy, this is physics.” ~ Professor Albert Einstein.
This understanding of life based on Einstein’s paradigm really sees human beings as units and networks of complex energy fields “…that interface with physical and cellular systems”. In short, “vibrational medicine uses specialized forms of energy to positively affect those energetic systems that may be out of balance due to diseased states”. (Beri K, 2018)
In fact, did you know that Greek philosopher Pythagoras reflected and concluded musical intervals as being clear expressions of sacred geometry? Eventually becoming the first person to prescribe music as medicine. As we celebrate the understanding of wellness from a good vibration’s perspective, and with advances in technology, sound and music therapy is indeed coming full circle.
